Eldorado's JAVELINA and HEALTHpac applications provide a real-time, integrated foundation for payers. System capabilities include managed care functionality, billing and administrative functions, case management, utilization review, PPO management, COBRA management, Section 125 and CDHP administration, batch laser printing, electronic claims transmissions, dynamic, on-line reporting and claims edit processing.

Company History

Zane Bell founded Eldorado Computing, Inc. in 1981. Believing that a significant opportunity existed to provide efficient solutions to the healthcare payer community, Zane made the primary focus of his new enterprise the development of a simple but effective automated software solution enabling benefit managers to process and pay health claims. At a time when proprietary solutions were limited to specific hardware platforms, Zane correctly envisioned that open system platforms would dominate the future of computing. For this reason, he chose a development environment specially suited to transaction processing (typical of healthcare industry processes) that would grow to allow Eldorado solutions to run on a broad range of platforms and in multiple operating environments.

Eldorado pioneered development of health benefit management software for self-funded employers and third party administrators. Since then, Eldorado has evolved by developing strengthened and expanded software products, including fully integrated managed care solutions appropriate for the needs of today's healthcare payers and providers. These application software solutions employ the latest software, computer and communications technologies, providing our clients with cutting edge solutions that maintain their competitive advantage.

 Eldorado was acquired by MphasiS BFL in 2005. In 2006, EDS acquired a majority interest in MphasiS. Hewlett Packard bought EDS in 2008. Eldorado is now part of the HP family of companies.
